TUARAN: Karnival STEM Fiesta 2022 peringkat negeri Sabah yang diadakan baru-baru ini berakhir dengan jayanya yang menyaksikan beberapa sekolah menengah dan sekolah kebangsaan melakar sejarah dalam pelbagai kategori yang dipertandingkan.
Karnival yang dihoskan PPD Tuaran itu adalah anjuran bersama Unit Sains dan Matematik, Sektor Pembelajaran PPD Tuaran, Kementerian Sains, Teknologi dan Inovasi Sabah dan kolaboratif pintar bersama IPGK Kent, Tuaran.
STEM Fiesta itu dilaksanakan bermula dari 5 April hingga 30 Jun 2022.
Pelaksanaan Karnival STEM Fiesta secara hibrid (bersemuka dan online) itu bermatlamat meningkatkan kompetensi guru-guru dalam melestari pendidikan STEM selain menghasilkan murid yang berdaya saing di peringkat global dalam bidang berteras sains dan teknologi.
Sebanyak tujuh jenis pertandingan membabitkan sembilan kategori telah berjaya dilaksanakan sepanjang tempoh Karnival STEM Fiesta yang melibatkan guru-guru dan murid-murid Sekolah Menengah dan Sekolah Rendah.
Sebanyak 512 penyertaan diterima daripada guru-guru dan murid-murid di sekitar daerah Tuaran manakala 94 penyertaan dari luar daerah dan luar negeri Sabah.
Slot ceramah dan perkongsian amalan terbaik STEM juga dilangsungkan semasa STEM Fiesta yang dikendalikan Penceramah Jemputan terdiri daripada pakar dan Ikon STEM Malaysia, juga dari Tenaga pengajar IBSE Negeri Sabah.
Acara kemuncak STEM Fiesta ialah Anugerah Mekar STEM 2022 kategori Sekolah Rendah berjaya dirangkul oleh SJK(C) Chen Sin, Tuaran manakala Anugerah Mekar STEM 2022 Kategori Sekolah Menengah diraih oleh SMK Tamparuli.
Anugerah Mekar berdasarkan penyertaan paling banyak dalam Kategori masing-masing.
Pegawai Pendidikan PPD Tuaran, Puan Hajah Wanihim Othman dalam ucapan alu-aluan penutupan STEM Fiesta 2022, berharap agar program itu dapat diteruskan demi untuk kelangsungan pendidikan dan pencapaian STEM.
Perasmian penutupan DYEM Fiesta 2022 disempurnakan Wakil Setiausaha Tetap Kementerian Sains, Teknologi dan Inovasi Sabah, Puan Maria Chong.
